Hayman Engineering Inc. caters to the engineering needs of the manufactured housing industry. We are expanding our engineering services to most states and strive to bring engineering excellence to homeowners, lenders, contractors, and others who have had a difficult time finding engineering resources for manufactured housing applications. Manufactured housing is not a side business for us—it is our area of expertise.

We are here to help anyone who has had difficulty finding excellent, timely, and cost-effective engineering resources for manufactured housing. Presently, our technical staff of engineers is available to provide you with the engineering resources you need. We have a national network of over 1,500 inspectors, hundreds of contractors and lenders to provide whatever service you need from engineering certifications for mortgage qualifications to repair damaged foundations.

We have regional offices in Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Virginia and are able to offer services in almost every state.

Hayman Engineering Inc. was founded by Paul Hayman, PE, an engineer with over 20 years’ experience in residential construction, inspections, and design. Our current technical staff is Scott Murphree-Roberts, PE, Michael Barker, PE, Kevin Moore, PE, and Darron Agawa, PE. Our technical staff has extensive experience in residential construction, foundation engineering, and HUD compliance. Our support staff is ready to meet your engineering needs—whatever they may be!

Professional Experience

Paul Hayman has over 25 years’ experience in the fields of residential and light industrial construction. His experience includes residential building inspection, commercial building inspection, expert court witness – engineering/construction, engineering design, code compliance structural inspections for the city of Custer, SD, structural building evaluations for banks, in-progress construction reports, VA structural inspections, and structural consulting on old buildings in historic Deadwood, South Dakota. He also owned and operated the oldest and largest home inspection company in South Dakota until 2008.

Other Related Experience

Mr. Hayman drafted the South Dakota Home Inspection Standards of Practice as adopted by the South Dakota Real Estate Commission in 2001 when home inspectors were first licensed by the state.

Professional Experience

Scott Murphree-Roberts has 30 years of design experience in a wide range of engineering project types and sizes. He has been a senior engineer and engineer-of-record on many large scale civil engineering projects. Scott’s previous experience as lead designer and firm principal has prepared him for the leadership role as head engineer of Hayman Engineering.

Since joining Hayman Engineering, Scott has gained additional expertise in the specialized field of helical and resistance pier design. Scott has completed an array of pier projects from retrofit remedial repairs of homes and commercial buildings to large new commercial and government construction projects for specialty pier contractors. He has worked closely with manufacturers’ engineers on many projects and attended pier design courses.

Scott also evaluates manufactured home foundations for compliance with Federal regulations, specifies upgrades where required, and evaluates upgrades for compliance.

He has provided design, project management, and construction observation services to a variety of client types: homeowners, government agencies, contractors, architects, universities, and building owners. His experience allows him to assist clients with their permitting needs quickly and effectively.

Kevin Moore has 24 years of field and design engineering experience in a wide range of engineering project types and sizes. He is licensed as a professional engineer in the 42 continental states.

Professional Experience

Kevin has been senior engineer, engineer-of-record, quality control manager, and geologist on many civil engineering projects. Kevin’s previous experience as lead designer has prepared him for his role as Civil/Geotechnical engineer of Hayman Engineering.

Since joining Hayman Engineering in January 2016, Kevin has gained additional expertise in the specialized field of helical and resistance pier design. He has completed an array of pier projects from retrofit remedial repairs of homes and commercial buildings to large new commercial and government construction projects for specialty pier contractors. Prior to joining Hayman Engineering, Kevin has been involved as a lead designer, designer, or a consultant, for numerous projects involving slope stability, retaining walls, excavation shoring, and foundations designs. These projects utilized helical piers, soil anchors, helical and grouted tie-backs support anchors, soil nails, geopiers, dynamic compaction, auger cast piles, cast-in-place piers, pin-piles, push piers, driven H-piles, soldier piles with wood lagging, sheet-piles, internal- and external-bracing for excavations, and many other geotechnical improvement techniques. He has also been involved with projects for levees, dams, bridges, roadways, power plants, commercial construction, infrastructure, residential, and mixed-use development projects as well as environmental remediation projects.

In addition to design, Kevin has also been in charge of contract quality control and construction observation services to a variety of client types: homeowners, government agencies, contractors, architects, universities, and building owners. His experience allows him to assist clients with their permitting needs quickly and effectively. He has worked closely with manufacturers’ engineers on many projects and has attended pier design courses by industry experts.

Professional Experience

Darron is the newest member of Hayman Engineering and brings with him demonstrated experience in both public and private engineering. Skilled in roadway design, grading, drainage, surveying, and construction management, he has a wide range of experience in many aspects of engineering including flood studies, ADA coordination, and program management. He has lived and designed in Colorado, Hawaii, and Missouri.

Darron evaluates the foundations and anchoring of manufactured homes around the country, and when necessary, suggests repairs and remediation to bring these foundations into compliance with HUD Regulations.

Darron is married to his wife of 20+ years and has 6 beautiful children ranging in age from elementary to college.

Mr. Barker has 20 years of Civil Engineering experience. He has Civil Engineering experience in the areas of land design, drainage, storm water management, roadway design, traffic engineering, geotechnical engineering, foundation design, rigging, commercial and residential inspection, and structural engineering and design.

Mr. Barker evaluates manufactured home foundations for compliance with Federal regulations, specifies upgrades where required and evaluates upgrades for compliance. He also performs structural design and analysis.
